April 2011: East View Farm has received the Silver Award in the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2011 (the highest accolade for self catering cottages in the UK).
Wonderfully situated to explore the north Norfolk coastal region, the Norfolk Broads and Norwich, East View Farm Holiday Cottages offer a fabulous option for your getaway to Norfolk.
The 4 star / Gold Award (EnjoyEngland) Cottages are set in ten acres of landscaped grounds, just two miles from the village of Wroxham, ‘Capital of the Broads’.
A perfect choice for couples and families alike, each Cottage has a bedroom on the ground floor and all bedrooms in the Cottages are en-suite, offering easy accessibility for all ages.
Plum Tree Cottage sleeps 6 (plus an infant), with 3 bedrooms over two levels. A converted barn, it is open and spacious with beautiful wooden beams and exposed brickwork throughout. Owner Jane Pond has done a marvellous job of furnishing the cottages, which are comfortable and contemporary with an element of ‘country living’ styling. Plum Tree Cottage features its own private patio garden for warmer days and a wood-burning stove for the chillier months. All bedrooms are en-suite, with the two doubles having King-sized beds.
Nutmeg Cottage sleeps 2 (plus an infant), with one bedroom. A converted barn all on one level, this cosy cottage is stunning throughout, from the oak porch and tiled hallway to the King-sized bedroom. It too has its own private south-facing patio garden – perfect for stargazing in the big Norfolk skies.
As you’d expect from such highly regarded accommodation (East View Farm was Winner of the Regional Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2010 and
Winner of EDP Tourism in Norfolk Awards 2010 for Best Self Catering Establishment), both cottages are spotlessly clean and exceptionally well equipped. They also have free Wi-Fi and access to a huge grass area (perfect for playing and kite flying).
Raising the bar still further when it comes to extraordinary self-catering accommodation, East View Farm Holiday Cottages are recipients of the Green Tourism Gold Award. This coveted honour recognises the Owners’ commitment to sustainability, vital when situated in such a scenic location. For example, the properties are powered by their own wind turbine and the owners have planted over 3000 native trees and shrubs and over 2500 native hedging plants on the site. Even the cleaning products used in the cottages are eco-friendly. Luxury family holidays with a green conscience. We love it.
Our personal favourite element is the private miniature steam railway (the Ashmanhaugh Miniature Light Railway) on site, which has open days at regular intervals throughout the year. What could make a family holiday to Norfolk more perfect?

Experience the Norfolk Broads in comfort and style with one of the original Companies to offer boating holidays on the Norfolk Broads. Mr J Richardson hired out his first pleasure cruiser from Richardson’s boatyard in Stalham in 1947, and over half a century later is still heavily involved in the running of the business with his sons Paul and Clive. Today, Richardson’s owns the largest fleet of cruisers on the Broads.
On-board facilities across the fleet are updated regularly, meaning that the newest cruisers are now luxuriously equipped.
Richardson’s fleet features boats suitable for all sized parties, from couples to double family groups. On board, you’re likely to find showers, fresh water toilets, well-equipped galleys, warm air heating (ideal for early or late season cruising), carpeted living areas and extensive soft furnishings.
Some of the craft boast picture windows, sundecks, CD & DVD players, en suite showers and microwaves. A few even have a four poster bed!
Whether you want to savor the natural beauty of the Norfolk Broads over a weekend, or really explore the region over a few weeks (perhaps with a bit of fishing, cycling, bird watching thrown in…), Richardson’s is a friendly, professional and well-established company to put your faith in when planning your Norfolk Broads voyage.
Most of Richardson’s craft are ‘pet friendly’ (small charge applies – please enquire when booking).
